Characteristic features:
vesicles and bullae formation
common in infants till young adults
features in three types: major (mucocutaneous ocular), minor (mucocutaneous) and chronic
desquamative gingivitis
bloody crusted lips
iris/target lesion, dull red maculopapular lesion on extremities and neck
large, deep, irregular, hemorrhagic ulcers
immunologically-mediated

Differential diagnosis:
pemphigus vulgaris

benign mucous membrane pemphigoid


Acute herpetic gingivostomatitis
